Describe your current role and responsibilities.Jenna Galley

As a trend forecaster I provide new and emerging insight and develop future lifestyle trends for global brands and retailers working in the Baby & Kids, and Gift & Greetings industries

Why did you decide to study Fashion Communication at Northumbria?

The variety of the course attracted me as I knew I wanted a career within a creative industry but didn't know exactly what in.

What are the most useful skills that Fashion Communication taught you?

To design with a purpose and be a 'disruptor' and not a follower; by spotting and responding to social, cultural and economic shifts. I think the course does an amazing job of exposing and developing the skills needed in industry.

Did you get any work experience / internships while studying?

I focused my internships on marketing and trend forecasting. I blogged for a sustainable t-shirt company, created marketing and events for an upcoming fashion app and underwent a trend forecasting internship over 9 months with Trend Bible.

What is the one piece of advice you would give this year’s graduates?

Be original, curious and push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Describe Fashion Communication in three words:

Inspiring. Creative. Trail-blazing
