My job is to assist in making sure the website and socials are cohesive with the stores. I write copy, ensure imagery is correct and keep the blog up to date with new products and trends. We deal with designer furniture and gifts such as from Muuto, Hay, Gubi and Ban.do.

Why did you decide to study Fashion Communication at Northumbria?

I was interested in the course and after I attended to the open day, Northumbria became my first choice because of the staff and the modules. The work seemed exciting and different, and the amount of contact time we get beats any other university. Best decision ever!

What are the most useful skills that Fashion Communication taught you?

Presentations. I hated them at first but it became so much easier. I was also hopeless at Photoshop before I started the course, but now I use it every day in my job. The course is so varied and it really gives you the opportunity to find your strengths through all the different modules. You also learn to understand your weaknesses, but that just gives you clarity on what to focus on in final year. You get a lot of opportunities to play around with your skills and have fun!

Did you get any work experience / internships while studying?

Yes I completed various internships for creative and marketing agencies in Manchester, such as Truth Creative. I also interned with John Lewis Beauty and Fashion PR team.

What is the one piece of advice you would give this year’s graduates?

Don't try and do everything. Focus on your strengths and build on that. And HAVE FUN! Because you will miss it so much when it's over.

Describe Fashion Communication in three words:

Best. Time. Ever.
