NEL Fund Managers: Place Based Impact Investing: strengthening the local economy by accelerating the potential of ambitious North East businesses 

About the Seminar 

 

Whether you are fully aware of Place Based Impact Investing (PBII) or never heard of the term, this seminar will enrich your knowledge. Yvonne Gale of NEL Fund Managers will cover how they deliver PBII in the North East, adaptions for the pandemic and economic recovery, business case studies and the finance currently available for growing local small businesses. Beneath the business facing public face, for those involved or interested in regional economic development and the levelling up agenda, the seminar will also address the challenges and complexity needed to enable PBII.

About the Speaker 

 

Dr Yvonne Gale, in addition to being CEO of NEL Fund Managers is a chartered accountant and economic development specialist. Locally, she a member of the NELEP Business Growth Board, non-executive director for Shared interest Society, Deputy President of the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants and trustee of two poverty focused charitable foundations. Nationally, she is Chair of the advisory board for the Office of the Small Business Commissioner, chair of the Prompt Payment Compliance Board, chair of the Responsible Finance Enterprise Lenders Network and an advisory board member to the ICAEW Members and Commercial Board. Yvonne completed her MBA and DBA with Northumbria University. She is currently working on the Purposeful Health Growth Accelerator, a Research England funded collaboration between Northumbria University and NEL Fund Managers to pilot new methods of knowledge exchange between the university and growing small businesses in the health, wellbeing and care sectors.
