Practice Placements

Placements are essential for all our nursing, midwifery and allied health courses. They provide rich opportunities to learn from experienced practitioners and with patients / service users.

All practice learning experience meet Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council requirements. Furthermore, by having strong partnerships with local service providers, we ensure that you have learning opportunities across hospital, community, NHS, private and voluntary settings. The range of experiences is immense. Your initial practice placement will be both exciting and daunting but we ensure that you are supported in practice with a qualified mentor or educator and through our Practice Learning Teams where lecturers and practitioners work together to help you maximise learning.

International Placements
For nursing and midwifery students there is the opportunity to combine study with time in Europe on an Erasmus Exchange or with our partner in Malta. It is competitive but we do encourage students to take up this unique experience.
