Growing your business in the North East of England can be a challenge especially in the current climate. 

Businesses in the region can access Arrow to help you innovate and grow through fully-funded short innovation projects in collaboration with four leading North East universities;

  • Durham University
  • Newcastle University
  • Northumbria University
  • University of Sunderland

The Arrow team will look at your organisation’s needs and will match your business with the expertise and facilities best suited to what the project requires.

Is my business eligible?

If your business is based in one of the areas below, you are eligible for support through Arrow;

  • County Durham
  • North Tyneside
  • Newcastle
  • Northumberland

What support is available to my business?

Support is fully funded for businesses and includes;

  • One to one time with experts
  • Innovation support
  • Research and development
  • Proof of concept and validation
  • Specialist data science expertise
  • Access to research facilities and equipment

Arrow support is fully-funded

There is no cost to your business for eligible projects. Arrow is part-funded by the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund through Durham County Council and the North of Tyne Combined Authority (now administered by the North East Combined Authority) as the leads in their respective areas. The fund is providing £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The aim is to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities, supporting local business, people and skills.
