If you have a legal problem but cannot afford legal advice or representation, the award winning Student Law Office at Northumbria Law School offers a free legal advice and representation service to the public.

We are a pro-bono clinic serving our local community in Tyneside and the North-East.

Please note: We are currently open for new legal enquiries. We are at full capacity for Wills and Lasting Power of Attorneys.

The Student Law Office runs just like an ordinary solicitor's practice. Set up in 1991, it handles hundreds of cases each year.

Legal areas covered include: employment, housing, consumer, family, crime, civil disputes, commercial, wills and lasting power of attorney. Assistance includes writing letters on behalf of clients, helping to negotiate settlement, advising on court procedures and even representation at court or tribunal hearings.

If you have a legal problem please contact the Student Law Office on 0191 227 3909 (voicemail only) or complete the form below:

Contact Form

We will contact you within 14 days to confirm either that you are being offered an interview with our student advisors, or that we are unable to take your enquiry.

If you have been offered an interview, an appointment will be arranged with you, to take place either at the Student Law Office or online, and you will be notified by your student advisors after that initial interview whether your case is being taken on, and the extent of the work which they can carry out on your behalf.

Please bear this in mind when considering whether our service will meet your needs and whether you wish to request an appointment.
