Brian Hodgson

Career Path: Founder, Hong Kong Auctions Ltd.
Location: United Kingdon

After leaving I had no idea what I wanted to do ! I did have an interest in media and I was fortunate to have my first job at The Guardian . I owe that to the skills I learnt at my Marketing lessons which got me the interview in the first place. After living an exciting time in London I left this well paid job to travel the world. I got as far as Australia and within a couple of weeks got a job with a Murdock publication (I kept that quiet from my Guardian friends) . I still had an urge to travel and after 3 years I left for Hong Kong.

I've been here ever since. I was still in Media and after many years working in the corporate world I started my own company. My Business course skills came into play when i was running my company which event became a listed entity on the US boards. I wished I had taken more attention in my accounting class. I also followed my passion for Public Speaking and started a coaching company. I now teach at several universities in Hong Kong and across Asia for company training. Public Speaking also helped me in my other profession , which I being an auctioneer. This has led to many wonderful experiences and a great deal of travel. My paths have been dictated by my interests and passion , aided with the education I received.
