undergraduate degree, I was eager to dive into Big Data and Data Science.
Recognising the immense potential of this field, I decided to pursue a Masters
program that would equip me with the advanced knowledge and practical skills
needed to excel in the industry. Throughout my graduate studies, I immersed
myself in a diverse array of subjects, ranging from data mining and predictive
modelling to database management and data visualisation.
One of the defining
aspects of my academic journey was the opportunity to work on real-world
projects and collaborate with industry professionals. These experiences not
only enhanced my technical expertise but also provided invaluable insights into
the practical applications of data science across various domains. Whether it
was analysing consumer behaviour patterns or developing predictive models, each
project fuelled my passion for leveraging data to drive meaningful outcomes.
Beyond the classroom, I actively sought out opportunities to expand my professional
network and stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. Engaging in
workshops, conferences, and online communities allowed me to connect with
like-minded individuals and gain insights from seasoned practitioners.
Moreover, I pursued internships and part-time roles that enabled me to apply my
skills in real-world settings, further bolstering my readiness for a career in
Big Data and Data Science. Today, as I reflect on my journey thus far, I am
immensely grateful for the opportunities that have shaped my career trajectory.

What are you doing now?
Currently, I am working as a Data Analyst at Tesla, and it's been an incredibly
rewarding experience thus far. In my role as a Data Analyst at Tesla, I am
responsible for analysing large datasets to extract valuable insights that
drive business decisions. I utilise statistical techniques and data
visualisation tools to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the
data. I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including technicians,
service managers, and other professionals to understand their data needs and
provide actionable insights. This involves creating reports, and presentations
to effectively communicate findings and recommendations. I play a key role by
leveraging data-driven approaches, I contribute to enhancing operational
efficiency, improving product performance, and ultimately driving the success
of Tesla's innovative initiatives in the electric vehicle industry. Working at
Tesla has provided me with an exciting opportunity to apply my analytical skills
in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where I am constantly challenged to
think critically and creatively to solve complex problems. I am grateful for
the opportunity to be part of a team that is revolutionising transportation and
sustainability through cutting-edge technology and innovation.

As a student reflecting on my decision to study at Northumbria University, I
can confidently say that it was a combination of factors like vibrant campus

As a former student of the esteemed institution, I can confidently attest to
the strong connection between my course and the industry. Throughout my
academic journey, I found numerous opportunities to engage with real-world
applications and professionals in the field. One of the highlights of my
program was the mandatory internship placement, which provided invaluable hands-on
experience in the industry. This placement not only allowed me to apply
theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios but also gave me insights into the
workings of the industry and potential career paths. My coursework was designed
to incorporate project-based learning, where I collaborated with industry
partners to tackle real challenges. These projects not only enhanced my
problem-solving skills but also enabled me to network with professionals and
gain a deeper understanding of industry practices. The strong emphasis on
industry engagement, through internships, projects played a pivotal role in
preparing us for the demands of the professional world and fostering a seamless
transition from academia to industry.
What was the best thing
about your course?
As a student who completed the MSc in Big Data and Data Science with Advanced
Practice, I can confidently say that the best thing about this course was its
hands-on approach to learning. Throughout the program, I was constantly engaged
in practical, real-world projects that allowed me to apply the theoretical
knowledge I gained in the classroom to actual data sets and problems. One of
the highlights of the course was the advanced practice component, where I had the
opportunity to work with industry partners on live projects. This not only gave
me invaluable experience working in a professional setting but also allowed me

advanced data analysis techniques, including statistical analysis and machine
learning algorithms. These skills have enabled me to extract meaningful
insights from large datasets and make data-driven decisions in various aspects
of my work. Additionally, the program provided me with a solid foundation in
programming languages such as Python and R, which are essential tools for data
manipulation and analysis in the field. Moreover, I gained expertise in data
visualisation techniques, allowing me to effectively communicate complex
findings to stakeholders. Overall, the MSc program equipped me with the
technical skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving field
of big data and data science, and I continue to leverage these capabilities to
drive innovation and solve real-world problems in my career.
What did you enjoy most
about your time at Northumbria University?
During my time at Northumbria University, I cherished the vibrant atmosphere
and the diverse opportunities for personal and academic growth. One of the
highlights of my experience was co-founding the Club Show Me London. This
initiative allowed me to combine my passion for exploring new cultures with my
desire to foster a sense of community among students. Organising trips and
events to showcase the rich tapestry of London's offerings was incredibly
fulfilling, as it brought together students from various backgrounds to share
memorable experiences and forge lasting friendships. Through this club, I not
only expanded my own horizons but also had the privilege of facilitating
others' discovery of the vibrant city that is London. The sense of camaraderie
and adventure that permeated our club activities remains one of my fondest
memories from my time at Northumbria University.

give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?
