Programme of Concerts & Recitals Hosted by Northumbria University's Music Department.
Recordings of previous concerts are available on the Northumbria Music YouTube Channel.
Concerts take place on city campus, Tuesdays at 13:15pm in The Great Hall, Sutherland Building *unless otherwise stated.
Admission is free, no booking required.
The recitals are free of charge, informal, and you are welcome to come and go as you please and to bring your lunch with you. Some concerts will be live-streamed and recorded and links will appear on this page. Concerts last around 35 minutes.

7th October - John Treherne - Harpsichord, Deborah Thorne -Baroque ‘Cello.
This recital will include sonatas for ‘cello and harpsichord by G.P. Telemann and Geminiani, interspersed with harpsichord solos. This concert forms part of the William Shield Festival

14th October – Michael Haynes - Organ (St. James’ URC) VENUE CHANGE TO ST JAMES' CHURCH
Director of Music at Hexham Abbey, Michael Haynes is known throughout the North East as an accomplished choral conductor and organist. He will play a varied programme of organ repertoire, with a live feed to the console so the audience can see not only his hands, but his busy feet!

21st November - Brittany King - Soprano, Kris Thomsett - Piano
Canadian soprano Brittany King will give a solo recital of Bach, Mozart and contemporary composer Ian Venables.

Northumbria Music Society will be showcasing arrangements of pop songs. Entirely student led, this is a great opportunity to hear some of our home grown talent.

25th November - Jill Crossland - Piano
British pianist Jill Crossland pursues a flourishing concert and recording career. She performs throughout the UK, including regular appearances at London's South Bank and Wigmore Hall. Her recital will include music by J.S. Bach

2nd December - James Birkett - Guitar, Emma Fisk - Violin
Birkett and Fisk will be performing works by, and inspired by, the 1920’s Italian-American duo Joe Venturi and Eddie Lang
