Arlene Anderson

Arlene was born in Stirling and grew up in Whitley Bay. She graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Theology and Education from Cambridge University and has fourteen years experience as a primary school teacher.  She taught in Nottingham and Hong Kong where she held the post as Primary Science Support Group Advisor for ten English Schools Foundation primary schools. Alongside her class teaching and school management responsibilities, she delivered a range of Continuing Professional Development training courses for teachers, subject leaders and school support staff. 

In 2005, Arlene moved into Initial Teacher Education, as senior lecturer and link tutor at Kingston University, Surrey.  During this time she studied for an MA in Education Leadership, Development and Consultancy from the London Leadership Centre, Institute of Education, London University.  In 2011, Arlene moved back to the North East to work for Newcastle University, ITE, lecturing on the Primary PGCE, in Primary Science, EAL, Diversity and Equality. In 2012 she was delighted to join Northumbria University to take up her current post.
