Dr Gyuzel Gadelshina

Assistant Professor

Before joining Newcastle Business School, Gyuzel gained more than 10 years of business practice in various senior positions across accounting, audit and management consultancy. Gyuzel obtained her MBA with distinction and gained her PhD from Newcastle University Business School. In her current research, she explores organisational life using a range of theories and methodologies from the fields of discourse analysis, ethnomethodology, discursive psychology, conversation analysis and membership categorisation analysis. Her current research project “Exploring interactional leadership practices in virtual teams’ processes” is supported by the British Academy research grant.

Gyuzel is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  Her pedagogic research is focused on teaching sustainability, visual literacy and the student learning experience. Gyuzel is a recipient of “Rewarding Excellence in Innovation and Teaching Award” and a winner of “The Innovation in Teaching of Research Methodology Excellence Awards”. In 2021 she received the Student Led Teaching Award as an Outstanding Staff Member for Business and Law.
