Dr Stuart Goodall

Associate Professor

Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

After completing a BSc in Sport Science, Stuart completed an MSc in Applied Sport Science at St. Mary's University College. He then studied for a PhD within the Centre for Sports Medicine and Human Performance at Brunel University before taking up a Research Associate post at Northumbria in February 2011. Stuart began as a Senior Lecturer in October 2012 and was appointed Associate Professor in September 2019.

Since 2022, Stuart has been the Head of Research & Knowledge Exchange and UoA 24 REF Lead. He currently holds four invited editorial positions with Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (MSSE, Associate Editor-in-Chief), Frontiers in Physiology (Associate Editor), Advanced Exercise & Health Science (Associate Editor), and BMC Sports Science, Medicine, & Rehabilitation (Senior Board Member) and is an External Examiner for the BSc in Sport & Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University (2024 - 2029).

Stuart is the institutional representative for the Physiological Society (https://www.physoc.org/).
