Deborah Leetham

Assistant Professor

School: Healthcare and Nursing Sciences

I was appointed as the first Macmillan Nurse for the regional genetics service and lead the development of the cancer genetics service in collaboration with clinical colleagues across the region. Whilst working as a genetic nurse specialist I was responsible for the recruitment of patients to national and international trials and research studies. I was appointed as senior lecturer at Northumbria University in 2005. I teach across the undergraduate nursing programme and contribute to international health care programmes and post qualifying courses. I supervise degree and masters students in the department of nursing, midwifery and healthcare and on the international healthcare programme.
