Hannah Layford

Assistant Professor (Practice)

School: Design Arts and Creative Industries

Hannah Layford is an assistant professor (practice) in design at Northumbria University with an interest in public relations, digital cultures and sustainable fashion narratives. She is a Chartered PR practitioner and Fellow of CIPR, and runs Layford Creative as a freelance PR practitioner working with sustainable consumer brands.

Hannah is also a trustee of The Millin Charity, an NGO which has provided specialist enterprise training, advice and support for women in Newcastle & Gateshead for over 20 years.

Hannah's research interests explore the role of content creators as contemporary taste makers and their influence on digital culture and the development of sustainable brand narratives through work with her clients such as Paul James Knitwear and George Smith.
