Dr Noel McLaughlin

Assistant Professor

Department: Northumbria School of Design, Arts and Creative Industries

My research is mostly concerned with popular music on film and television and issues of aesthetics, performance and meaning. I am particularly interested in rock and popular music culture's relationship to the national. Other areas of research interest include recent film-making in Britain and Ireland, post-colonialism and the cinema and recent American crime series.
