Dr Mohammadali Rezazadeh

Assistant Professor

Department: Mechanical and Construction Engineering

Dr. Mohammadali Rezazadeh is a lecturer of Civil Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering (MCE). Prior to joining Northumbria University, he was a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Structural Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and was awarded a Post-doctoral FCT Individual fellowship at the University of Minho, Portugal. He received his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Minho, Portugal, in 2015. He also holds an MSc in Earthquake Engineering, Iran, and a BSc in Civil Engineering, Iran.

His research during the last years has led to publishing more than 40 research papers in Structural Engineering, and he has also been supervising postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D. students. He is an active member of International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) and Technical Committees of International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM). He currently holds a research grant from Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in Portugal (Portugal 2020) as Principal Investigator (PI).

Mohammadali Rezazadeh

His research interests focus on the innovative strengthening techniques of concrete structures, prestressed concrete, structural application of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials, fire safety of concrete buildings, high-performance fibre reinforced concrete, durability of concrete structures, advanced numerical modelling, and machine learning computational methods.
