Dr Teresa Roca

Assistant Professor

Department: Newcastle Business School

I hold a multidisciplinary PhD in Occupational Psychology, Policy and Education, funded by the prestigious Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). I examined the impact on the well-being and working lives of 100 school teachers of being placed in failing school categories by The Office for Standards in Education (OfSTED) in England. My study was longitudinal and used various methods of data collection and multilevel analysis. I also hold a MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Nottingham and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the Open University UK.

My primary research interests are within the areas of occupational well-being, organisational behaviour, personnel development, performance management, research methods, accountability systems for school improvement, educational policy, leadership, decision-making, organisational culture and change.
