Ian Walshe

Following several years working in the fitness industry, Ian completed his BSc.and MSc. at the University of Northampton and Loughborough University, respectively.  He then completed his doctorate at Northumbria University in 2011, investigating the inflammatory response to exercise and its relationship with fatigue.  Ian then held a lecturing position at University of Stirling before returning to Northumbria University as a Senior Lecturer in 2016.

Ian is Laboratory Director for the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation and is Programme leader for MRes. Exercise Science.  He teaches on a number of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level related to exercise and health.
