Design + Wellbeing

Researchers allied to the Design + Wellbeing theme examine how designed artefacts, services and systems can promote wellbeing, broadly defined, and the benefits of engaging in making, collaborative design and creative practice.

Investigations include the role of design in improving health and care service delivery and intervention design; designing new systems and technologies that enable physical and mental health and wellbeing promotion for individuals living with specific conditions; or community public health interventions in low-income countries. Researchers in this theme also examine the role of design in community contexts, creating public spaces and forms of civic engagement to support the wellbeing of citizens.
