Designed by a multi-professional team including Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Care Staff and Medical practitioners our range of Continuing Workforce Development (CWD) is tailored towards individuals who are driving and enabling practice development in NHS North East.

Northumbria is the principal provider of nurse education in the North East of England and was named Nurse Education Provider of the Year (post-registration) for three consecutive years by Student Nursing Times.

We have excellent relationships with partner services in health, social care and social work and our range of CPD provision supports practitioners and managers to engage in professional learning and then examine how this can be integrated in the practice arena.

This module will be supported by the Northern Neonatal Network, and your unit clinical educators. You will learn through a combination of formal lectures, seminars and tutorials. As there are clinical outcomes to be achieved you will be supported in practice by a designated mentor.

Assessment is by summative written assignment (2,500 words) and demonstration of the achievement of clinical outcomes relevant to your own workplace. Both parts of the assessment must be successfully achieved in order to gain academic accreditation. Formative feedback on progress will be via a designated mentor and network / clinical educator. Summative feedback will be provided by written comments on work submitted.

This module is based at our Coach Lane Campus where you will have access to cutting-edge facilities with technology embedded through all aspects of your CPD course.
