2026/27 Undergraduate UK International Scholarship

For Undergraduate students joining in September 2026.

The UK International Scholarship will award Undergraduate students who join Northumbria at Level 4 (the first year of an Undergraduate degree) and those who join with advanced entry to Level 5 and Level 6 a £3,000 tuition fee discount.

Students will also receive £2,000 in subsequent years, up to a total of £7,000

*Terms and Conditions

To be eligible for the Northumbria UK International Scholarship, you must:

  • Be an International student with ‘Overseas’ fee status
  • Be currently studying one of the following qualifications within the UK, at a UK based institution:
    • A Level 3 International Foundation Programme / Foundation Year / UK A-Level equivalent*
    • A Level 4 International Year One programme
    • A Level 5 HND or Foundation Degree
    • *This will typically be UCAS tariff qualifications such as A-Levels, BTEC, Access. Final eligibility at the discretion of the Admissions Team
  • Be a self-funded student (not in receipt of any sponsorship)
  • Be accepted on a Full-Time Undergraduate course at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, in September 2026
  • Meet all individual course requirements

Important Information

  • The Northumbria UK International Scholarship is applied automatically as a fee discount, you do not need to make a separate application
  • Students joining with advanced entry to Level 5 and Level 6 are also eligible for the UK International Scholarship
  • Sponsored students are not eligible for the UK International Scholarship
  • This award cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or scholarships, unless stated
  • The scholarship is awarded to Newcastle Upon Tyne campus students only
  • The Admissions team have final discretion in assessing eligibility equivalent qualifications of Level 3 qualifications
  • The qualifying courses must be studied at in the UK – UK qualifications studied overseas do not count
  • Current Northumbria University students are not eligible for the UK International Scholarship
  • Students who are progressing from a partner institute where reduced fees and bespoke offers have been agreed, are not eligible for the UK International Scholarship
  • The UK International Scholarship is not a cash sum
  • If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
  • If you are required to repeat a year, the scholarship will not be applied again
  • The University's decision is final and cannot be challenged; there is no right of appeal
