Where are you from?

South London

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I wanted to live in a city, but not feel cramped. I wanted loads to do but I didn't want to be poor all the time and I wanted a University that was contemporary. Northumbria offered all of that for me, so it was the perfect choice!

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Newcastle is a great place to live and the surrounding areas are so picturesque and offer plenty to do. I love living in a city but being so close to the beaches across the East coast. They're great places to spend with your friends at the weekend when it's sunny!

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Since I lived in london it has to be how cheap a night out is! Was a great surprise since I very rarely have any money!

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming?  Was it easy to fit in?

Dead easy! The older students help out on the first few days and everyone helps everyone out anyway! Everyone's in the same boat.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Not only is the course great, but the university and party life is amazing!

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My flat mates have been a great help in all areas of university life, but it is really reassuring knowing I can approach any of my course tutors in confidence.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Although I don't have a particular person to single out, I've been massively inspired by the number of people who are really engaged in my course and continue to drive me to do my best!

What is your favourite place on campus?

The 24 hour library! I'd be lost without it!

What is the best thing about your course?

I love its relevance to contemporary issues and its attempt to answer some really difficult questions about criminality.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

I've learnt the importance not to judge people or scenarios. It's too easy to prejudice against people because of certain things about their background or life.

What do you want to do in the future?  What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I'd love to work in the police in the future and the theories on criminality I have learned and explored will give me a edge on dealing with crimes and criminals.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Do it! You will not regret it. The friends you meet, the things you learn you'll never forget.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Since coming to university I'm far more mature and confident in myself.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?
