Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
Firstly because it's local to me and secondly because it's a university with a good reputation.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I love it! I like to go to restaurants with my friends and visit National Trust properties and go to Tynemouth Market.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
How many varied the things are to do both in and out of Newcastle.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
I found Northumbria University very welcoming. With the help of the Students' Union I quickly found it easy to fit in here.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
The Students' Union, participating in activities and volunteering, societies etc.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
My university lecturers.
Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?
The lecturers.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The Students' Union, after that perhaps my classrooms in Squires Building.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
Volunteer Northumbria, Writers' Society, Music Society-Contemporary Choir, RAG, ECO NSU etc They are all fantastic!
What is the best thing about your course?
The friendliness of the lecturers!
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
How to manage a workload and also have fun, making the most out of life.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I'm applying to become a teacher. I think my organisation skills and my ability to stay calm under stress will help me.
Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?
I went to France to be an assistant in primary schools. My most memorable experience was travelling to different European countries with friends.
Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.
Yes, during my year abroad I went to London, Paris, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dijon and other towns in France.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
Do it! And make the most of it while your here!
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I have loads more confidence!
