The Global Marketing and Business Department at Northumbria are looking to hire current undergraduate and postgraduate students for a number of roles. Further details of the different roles currently available can be found below.

Job Title: Digital Assistant

Hours Per Week/Fortnight: TBD 

Hourly: £12

Job Purpose: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student rep to support our digital marketing team. As a student rep, you will assist with a variety of administrative tasks that are essential to the smooth functioning of our digital marketing operations.

Responsible to: Digital Development Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the digital marketing team with regular administrative tasks, including data entry, document organisation, and maintaining marketing spreadsheets.
  • Support with general website updates including fixing broken links and spelling errors.
  • Conduct regular user testing of the University website to make sure it’s working to its full potential.
  • Conduct research on competitor websites, and potential website opportunities.
  • Manage emails and update databases.
  • Assist with work coordination, ensuring timely communication and task completion.

Requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and website browsers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Location: Pandon Building, City Campus with occasional Working from Home.

Our Event Reps have a vital role in supporting the delivery of our on-campus recruitment events throughout the year. You are in the best position to show prospective students and their families just why Northumbria is so great, positively promoting the student experience to potential students.

Faculty/Service: Global Marketing and Business     

Job Title: Student Event Rep

Hourly: £12.00

Job Purpose: To provide a high quality of customer service support at on-campus student recruitment events, including Open Days and NU Experience Days. To act as a point of contact for potential students at these events and to positively influence them to apply to Northumbria University, as well as offering additional support to the Events team where necessary. 

Responsible to: Senior Events Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Student Recruitment Events team in delivering a programme of on-campus student recruitment events.
  • Be an ambassador of Northumbria University and positively promote the University.
  • Work alongside academics to engage with prospective students about your course and experiences at Northumbria.
  • To manage time effectively whilst balancing studies.
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude while undertaking a variety of roles across a range of events. 

Location: City Campus and/or Coach Lane Campus

Attendance Requirements: A mandatory training session must be attended before shifts can be allocated.

Outreach Representatives (UG&PG) will act as ambassadors for Northumbria University, inspiring and encouraging prospective UG and PG students to apply and study at Northumbria through outreach work and events.  The role will support the Student Recruitment and Access team who engage with students in a variety of ways including on campus events, online mentoring, visiting local schools/colleges, hosting workshops and presentations.

FutureMe Tutors and Associates will work with the North East Uni Connect Programme (NEUCP) to act as ambassadors for Higher Education study within the North East region, working to inspire and inform high school students about the opportunities to study beyond school and how this could help with their career aspirations.

In this role there will be opportunities to:

  • Deliver a literacy tutoring programme to small groups of Y8 pupils
  • Support on-campus events across all partner institutions
  • Train and deliver HE sessions in target schools
