All Northumbria law undergraduate students start on the Law (LLB (Hons)) pathway which then provides students with a wide range of programme route choices. Plus, for those wanting to become a barrister, you’ll be able to study any route of your choice, because all include the 7 foundations of legal knowledge, making them eligible to undertake a Bar Course. 

Law at Northumbria is ranked 7th in the UK for research power out of 69 submissions (REF, 2021). This represents a rise of 37 places compared to 2014.

Northumbria’s Student Law Office is known for its pioneering approach - where law students undertake free legal work under professional supervision to support real clients and gain hands-on experience.  

The Student Law Office has managed more than 7,000 enquiries, represented more than 3,000 clients, and secured over £1.6 million on their behalf since 2005. 

Over 92% of students studying Law at Northumbria believed that their course enabled them to develop knowledge and skills needed for their future (NSS, 2024).
