Thousands to attend UCAS exhibition at Northumbria University
Students from across the North East applying for university or college should visit the UCAS exhibition at Northumbria University, Newcastle, to learn all they need to know about life in higher education.
Dozens of universities and colleges from across the UK will be available to speak to anyone thinking about taking their first step into higher education.
The event on Thursday 28th April from 9.30am to 3pm is also a great opportunity for students to explore the range of fantastic facilities on offer at Northumbria University.
Michael Smith, UCAS Interim Head of Events said advisers will be on hand for students to ask the burning questions about their applications.
“UCAS exhibitions are a great way to find out about life after exams,” he said. “Whether that means university, volunteer work, a gap year or career opportunities, we really encourage people to come along to Northumbria University and see what their future could look like.”
Helen Bower, Assistant Director Student Journey at Northumbria University, said: “During the event students will have the opportunity to speak to staff from over 100 local and national universities. Regardless of whether they are just starting to research courses and institutions or are well on the way to making their final decisions, we are sure that the information provided will be of help.
“The exhibition isn’t just about researching universities and courses however. Students will also be able to benefit from seminars running throughout the day offering advice and guidance on topics such as student finance, the UCAS application process and student life. There will be plenty of experienced staff available to talk to and help students make the right decision for them.”
This is the first time that Northumbria University has hosted a UCAS exhibition and around 6,000 students are expected to attend the event.
Students can find more about getting the most out of visiting an exhibition at www.ucas.com/prep. UCAS organises over 50 exhibitions each year around the UK.
