Global Challenges Summit 2018

5th October 2018

The challenges of sustainable development, human rights, governance and social justice were all on the agenda during The Global Challenges Summit 2018, which took place in Newcastle recently.

The event brought together academics from, Northumbria, Newcastle and Durham Universities, alongside NGOs and other organisations from across the region and globally, whose work is focused on helping to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Over 140 people attended the summit, coming together to share the work they are doing and to identify ways they can collaborate further to address global development challenges.

The event highlighted the commitment across the region’s universities to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, in partnership with colleagues and organisations across the world.
