Richard Brown

Research Fellow

School: Psychology

Dr Richard Brown is a Research Fellow at Northumbria University working on the Double Dividend of Safety Project, investigating the impact of safety conditions on health behaviours and modelling the potential benefits of interventions. Richard also manages Urban Futures, an Interdisciplinary Research Theme at Northumbria working to improve quality of life and sustainability in urban areas.

Richard's research investigates the relationships between perceptions of risk and health behaviours. He also works with the Psychology and Communication Technology Lab at Northumbria exploring a range of public health issues using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Richard has previously held fellowships with the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and the Alan Turing Institute, is a non-practising solicitor, and writer for Psychology Today.
