Dr Mike Cole

Assistant Professor

Department: Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing

Mike joined Northumbria University in 2012.

Prior to this he taught science in secondary schools across the UK, gaining a number of leadership and management responsibilities, whilst also completing a Master’s in Education.

Mike then went on to work at Durham University as a Deputy Director within the national network of Science Learning Centres, which involved leading a team of professionals to provide high quality subject specific CPD for primary, secondary and post-16 teachers across the region.

Mike is currently an assistant professor in education with research interests within the areas of science education and models of teachers' professional development.
