Dr Hasan Kivrak

Department: Computer and Information Sciences

Dr. Hasan Kivrak joined Northumbria Universiy in 2023 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Selcuk University, Turkey, and both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He also served as a Research Associate from 2021 to 2023 at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Manchester, Manchester, UK.

He has conducted several research projects. His work spans a range of robotics and AI topics, including sign language tutoring robots, the development of socially and emotionally aware robotic assistants, indoor wireless positioning and tracking systems, and the application of robotics and AI in nuclear environments.

His research interests include cyber-physical systems, autonomous robots for extreme environments, and indoor wireless network positioning and tracking.
