Michealla Lincoln

Michealla is an Assistant Professor at Northumbria within the Psychological Therapies Department where she has programme and module leadership responsibility for the Pg Dip CBT Programme. Prior to moving into Higher Education at Northumbria University Michealla held various clinical positions within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services including those of Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Supervisor, Senior Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Team Lead.

She is a Registered Nurse and BABCP Accredited Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer and has over 25 years experience working with children and young people who experience mental health difficulties.  

Michealla is currently undertaking a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health). Her research explores how Low Intensity Practitioners develop confidence and competence in delivering Parent-led Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support parents and carers in managing their children's anxiety difficulties. The study examines the contribution of university-based training, clinical supervision, reflective feedback and practice-based experience to LI practitioners' learning and professional development.
