Terence Liu 2 Terence joined the Faculty of Engineering and Environment at Northumbria University as a lecturer after 5 years holding postdoctoral research associate posts in Professor Keith Scott and Professor Paul Christensen’s groups at Newcastle University.

He studied metallurgy engineering from 2001 in Northeastern University, China. During the 3^rd year, he was selected to join ‘3+2’ programme and received MEng (Hons) in Materials Science from Queen Mary, University of London. Terence’s PhD project ‘Design of electro-catalysts for direct methanol fuel cells’ was completed under a joint research program between Johnson Matthey Technology Centre (JMTC) and The Open University in 2010. During that time, he worked as a part-time researcher in the catalyst design team in JMTC.
