Waseem’s research has strongly gravitated towards Pure and Applied Microeconomic Theory, International Economics/Finance, Financial Economics, and Game Theory. In particular, he specialises in the analysis and application of imperfect competition in general equilibrium with a view to deriving sound policy implications.

His work has been published in ABS3*/4* journals in economics and finance, including the European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Mathematical Economics, and Finance Research Letters, amongst others.

He is currently probing into the possibility of using game-theoretic techniques to solve issues related to sustainability (strategic sustainability).

He welcomes suitably trained PhD students in the above-mentioned research areas.
