Academic Congregations Winter 2025
The winter ceremonies will take place on Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 December 2025 in Sport Central, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Tickets
Physical tickets will not be not issued.
A week before the ceremony you will receive confirmation by email, this confirmation will admit both you and all of your guests into Sport Central. The capacity of the hall is strictly limited, therefore only graduates and guests with a valid ticket will be admitted. All guests, including babies and children, must have their own ticket. Please check your guests are able to attend before booking them a place as paid tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Gown Hire
Online gown orders close a couple of weeks before the ceremony, if you have not booked your gown, you can hire a gown from Ede and Ravenscroft on the day, to arrange this, come to the gown hire desk in Study Skills 1 room, Student Central on the day of your ceremony.

Deferring your ceremony if you cannot attend
If you cannot attend your congregation ceremony for personal reasons, you can apply for deferral. Once you have received your invitation, you can opt to attend a future ceremony by completing the Deferral Application Form. Please note if you wish to attend a Congregation, you must attend within one year of being awarded. You should apply for deferral before the date of your original ceremony, any deferral applications submitted retrospectively will not be considered.
