Our AlumniAcademics in this group work across the genres of drama for stage, radio, film and TV; the short story, flash fiction, novel, and verse novel; poetry, song-lyric, and poetry combined with graphics. Group members share a commitment to re-thinking the nature and significance of practice-led research and research-led teaching, including the relationship between creative writing practice and research. Members are active in giving public readings, and, through our association with the regional writing agency New Writing North, we are formally involved with the Durham Book Festival and the Northern Writers' Awards.
Two practice-led projects recently attracted fellowship funding from AHRC: Michael Green's 'Ghosting Through: Ficto-Critical Translation as a Means of Resisting the Appropriations of History and Place', and Tony Williams' study of the interrelation of writing practice and everyday life.
