Our AlumniResearchers explore the way digital information is used and managed. They investigate the people, processes and systems of managing records in digital environments where boundaries between personal and business information can sometimes become blurred. This research enables the better understanding of governance, assurance and risk, authenticity, behaviour, processes and systems, preservation, access and retrieval.
Researchers focus on contexts such as archives and record management, digital libraries and information services. A key example is the major AHRC-funded international e-records management (ERM) research, which led to a reconceptualisation of the ERM challenge and how to address it. Other research focuses on trust, exploring the impact of the digital age on record keeping and how information is managed at the highest levels of government.
