Information for Bar Applicants

Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL)

You must apply via Lawcab for our full time GDL course

Please note completion of this course you will no longer enable progression to the PG Dip Legal Practice Course or LLM Legal Practice Course, as a route to qualifying as a solicitor. From September 2021 the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) is a new route to solicitor qualification as per the rules and guidance set out by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The GDL is not designed to prepare students for the SQE assessments but does provide foundational legal knowledge for non-law graduates who may wish to progress onto an SQE preparation course such as Northumbria's Master of Laws Professional Legal Practice LLM.
