Aspirational Offers

What is an Aspirational Offer?

When reviewing your application, we use predicted grades as one of the criteria we consider when making offers, but we know these aren't always a reflection of your true potential.

In response to this, we will typically make standard tariff offers to applicants whose predicted grades are equivalent to up to three or four grades below our standard tariff entry criteria, depending on the programme.

In most cases you will also receive a Dual Offer. This incorporates a reserve offer for a relevant Extended Degree course leading to your chosen degree, alongside the standard degree offer itself, giving you the opportunity to still join Northumbria if you meet our Extended Degree entry requirements. This reserve offer may be unconditional if you firmly accept your offer or require you to meet the Extended degree tariff points, if you accept the offer as your insurance choice (or it is for a course that has professional body requirements) Any conditions will be included in your offer.
