Nursing

What's it like to study at Northumbria?

It's been so good, I really felt part of an academic community that is ready to support my career, with a serene environment and materials always available to aid my learning. The bus arrangement made by the university from the main campus to Coach Lane was a great relief, which shows that the management had students in mind. My sincere appreciation.

Best thing about studying Nursing

The module tutors are the best, as they broaden my knowledge of nursing in various aspects of career path with different modules: Nursing Research, Life sciences, Global health among others. The tutors are always willing to help you learn in all aspects and with various categories of ideas that can aid one's learning. I enjoyed the simulations we had last, as I can already see myself in clinical practice.

The module leader was the best.

Favourite thing to do on campus / community

I have always loved to be in the library especially, during the exam period, the serenity and well-designed space available for different categories of choice of learning. You can have learning discussions with your mates without having to disturb others in designated rooms provided whereas you can read quietly as an individual without distractions.

I cherish that!

The Ask4Help team are also willing to help at every point of need.

Course & career goals / industry links

I see myself becoming an internationally educated nurse, and Northumbria University has helped me achieve this, there is no doubt. I am now able to think of other career paths beyond the clinical roles I used to know. Now I can see a brighter future.

A time you realised you were capable of more

In the early period of the course, when I was new to the university, the module leader shaped my confidence to present my assignments in a relaxed manner, with no pressure from any angle, and I saw that my course mates were willing to hear what I had to say.

Support that boosted confidence / ambition

The opportunity to have simulations, get into the learning rooms and practice what you read in books is a blast.

Advice for someone considering Northumbria

Northumbria University is one of the best universities in the UK with good learning opportunities and helps build your future prospects. You can never be found wanting among your course mates from other schools as you're already groomed.
