What appealed to you about Northumbria University / studying in Newcastle?

The course sounded really interesting and the options available in the 2nd and 3rd year gave a better choice than most universities. Also, I really wanted to live in Newcastle because it's a good student city with a great nightlife.

What was it about the course / subject area that particularly appealed?

It has always been an interest of mine and the option modules available sounded really interesting. I want to pursue psychology after university in terms of a post graduate course and Northumbria offered me that.

What qualifications did you have?

A levels, B in Psychology, C in History and D in Biology

How did you feel during your first week at Northumbria?

Very nervous but it went so fast I didn’t have time to be worried, and I settled in really fast with all my housemates.

What do you like most about the course?

The variety of lectures and workshops on the course and in particular my option module in crime is really interesting.

Can you give an example of a piece of work you’ve been involved with recently?

A lab report on individual differences in intelligence which involved lots of research and carrying out a practical.

How do you get on with your tutors?

They are very approachable and helpful.

What’s your accommodation like?

Average house, nice to live with friends, more expensive though.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

Either go on to post graduate study or get a job as a Trainee Psychologist.

Do you have any advice for anyone applying for your course, or for university in general?

Enjoy your first year, The second year involves work.  Don't blow all your money in freshers.

What three words would you use to describe your time at Northumbria?

Interesting, fun and unforgettable.
