Where are you from?

Newcastle upon Tyne

Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It was by far the best university for my course.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

It's the best region in the country, I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else. I love going out to eat, the nightlife and visiting the secrets that Newcastle holds.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

All of the areas I didn't know existed surprised me, I never imagined there could be so much unexplored in my previous 18 years.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

It was very easy to fit in, I made friends immediately. There are people on my course from all over the world and they're all very forthcoming.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Some of my lecturers have been easy to access and very helpful with matters regarding university. For other matters like how to cook and iron my parents have been very good.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Seeing other people on my course work so hard at projects inspired me to do the same.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Students' Union. I often have gaps between lectures and seminars and usually spend them in the Students' Union.

What is the best thing about your course?

I love the fact that it isn't essay after essay, we compile reports, portfolios and many different types of projects.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

The importance of revision, definitely!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

My social skills have developed greatly since going to university, meeting more people from different backgrounds.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

Everybody on my course went on a field trip to London to look at the property market down there - it was related to coursework. We had a great time and it was really interesting too.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Snap up the opportunity!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have matured a lot, learnt a lot of life skills and learnt a lot about my abilities and restraints.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Very worth it!
