Explore Our Campus with a Student Guide
Join a member of the Student Recruitment Team for a guided tour of our campus! Lasting approximately one hour, these tours offer a great opportunity to experience our university first-hand - exploring the campus, key facilities, and student life.
While we’re unable to arrange meetings with academic staff or visits to accommodation, we’ll take you through essential spots like the library, the Students’ Union, and Sport Central.
Tour Availability
Tours are available for City Campus or Coach Lane Campus for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
We require at least one week’s notice to arrange your tour, and availability is limited.

Once your tour is scheduled, we’ll send you a confirmation email with all the details you’ll need.

City Campus Tours
The City Campus is in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, just a couple of roads from the main shopping areas and cultural centres. The campus marries a unique combination of innovative contemporary buildings with historical sites that have been listed because of their heritage and grandeur. The University has invested more than £250 million in its estate over the last decade and our campus is continuously evolving to create an environment where you can shape your future.
Some of the City Campus Tour highlights include:
- Student Central – our one stop shop for student enquiries and the University Library
- Sport Central – our state-of-the-art sport facility
- Students Union - led by the SABB Team, the Student’s Union is here to make sure that your time at Northumbria is the best it can be.
Coach Lane Tours
Located just 3 miles outside of Newcastle, Coach Lane Campus is an extensive site with its own Sports Centre, Students’ Union, Library and IT suites.
The Coach Lane Campus highlights include:
- High Performance Sports Centre: A top-tier training facility at Coach Lane, home to Team Northumbria and other professional sports teams, featuring outdoor football and hockey pitches, a 3G pitch, and an indoor sports hall.
- Clinical Skills Centre: A state-of-the-art facility for Health and Life Sciences students, offering hands-on experience in simulated hospital environments with advanced SimMan and SimBaby mannequins to build confidence and practical skills.
