The Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering has been helping people learn and businesses develop for over 50 years. 

Our academic staff work closely with business and industry and have experience in professional practice. We help organisations benefit from new skills, knowledge and approaches. We offer a range of methods of engagement across the Architectural, Automotive, Civil, Mechanical and Product Design Engineering disciplines as well as Construction & Project Management. 

The department covers a wide range of disciplines through research and engages with business in several different ways dependent on the requirements of our partners. Areas include, research, consultancy, workforce development and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP).
