NORTHUMBRIA UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE COLLABORATE ON INAUGURAL NATIONAL BUSINESS APPRENTICESHIP CONFERENCE

The ‘Coaching in University Business Apprenticeships’ (CUBA) conference, taking place online on 21st September 2023, is the first National conference designed for HE professionals and staff involved in developing and supporting business apprenticeships across the UK.

Co-developed by Northumbria University, Newcastle, and Hertfordshire University, the conference will focus on the vital role that tripartite reviewers/workplace coaches play in apprenticeships as the glue that holds together the tripartite relationship between employer, learner and provider.

Organised around the apprentice journey, #CUBApprenticeships2023 presents a unique opportunity to bring together a range of voices from across the sector, start a national discussion about this critical work to build community, representation, define and discuss commonly faced challenges, and share and celebrate the good practices that have emerged in isolated parallel across the country.

Helen Charlton, Senior Lecturer in Leadership and HRM, and Director of Education for Apprenticeships at Northumbria University said: “It’s fantastic to be working in partnership with Hertfordshire University to present the inaugural CUBA conference. This is a unique opportunity to bring together a range of voices and start a national discussion about this critical work in the area of business apprenticeships.”

Phil Power-Mason, Head of Strategic Management Subject Group, Hertfordshire Business School commented: “This in-partnership conference celebrates the good practices that have emerged across the country, building and enriching our community of practice in business apprenticeship coaching. We hope to welcome as many colleagues as possible to join this important conversation as we explore the challenges and opportunities facing coaches at the leading edge of the national skills agenda.”

The ‘Coaching in University Business Apprenticeships’ (CUBA) conference, takes place online on 21st September 2023, 9am-4.30pm.

It is free to attend and sign up / more information is available at cuba-conference-2023
