Visit Northumbria’s first Postgraduate Design Degree Exhibition

18th September 2023

Collections of work created by students from Northumbria School of Design are being prepared for display during the first exhibition of work by those studying Masters and PhD programmes.

The Foyer of the Design School building (CCE2) at the University's Newcastle City Campus will transformed to showcase the work of around 50 individuals for a month-long exhibition, which will be opened with a special launch event on Thursday 28 September, between 5pm and 7pm.

The exhibition will include examples of practical work from across the MA Design, MRes Design, MA Fashion Design, MA Multidisciplinary Design, and the Art and Design PhD's.

Members of the public are also welcome to view the exhibition, which will be open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, until the end of October.

Sophie Wetherell, Programme Leader for the MA Fashion Design course, said: "There's been so much quality practical work produced this year, from pieces of furniture to collections of garments, that we're hoping to be able to showcase it to as many people as possible during this exhibition.

“The event will act as a celebration of the achievements of those who have completed their studies and provide an insight into the postgraduate courses for those who are just joining us."

Visitors who have registered to attend one of the University’s upcoming Open Days on Saturday 30 September and Saturday 21 October, will also have a chance to see the Postgraduate Design Degree Exhibition.
