Sadie Diamond Fox 

Sadie qualified as an adult nurse in 2008 and has since worked in various critical care departments including hepatobiliary, cardiothoracic, burns and general medical and surgical units. During this time she has progressed from Registered Nurse to her current specialist roles as Advanced Critical Care Practitioner (ACCP) and Lecturer for Northumbria’s ACCP training programmes.

In her current clinical role she works as an autonomous practitioner in a highly advanced non-medical role that is pioneering change in regard to the medical workforce within critical care. On completion of her ACCP training she was awarded Associate Membership status to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, having completed a FICM recognised ACCP programme here at Northumbria University.

Sadie has always had a great passion for academia, accepting an Honorary Lecturer’s post at Anglia Ruskin University in 2010 to compliment her clinical work. Since then she has developed an extensive teaching portfolio which spans multiple disciplines within undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare education, making a wide range of contributions on local and international levels through the delivery of lectures, seminars, practical workshops and short courses. Sadie was initially an Associate Lecturer at Northumbria University, later having been awarded a Lecturer post in 2018. She is also a Content Expert for PFNA review & Programme Development for the ACCP programme. Sadie’s teaching and learning interests span across multiple disciplines encompassed within critical and acute care of the adult patient.  

Sadie has various national links and responsibilities within the critical care field. She is current Co-Lead for Northern Region of ACCPs (ACCPNR), a regional group whose aim is to increase collaborative working of ACCPs to advance practice within critical care, whilst enhancing and supporting training and educational development. Sadie also sits on the North East Intensive Care Society (NEICS) Committee which involves regular networking and engagement with international experts within the field, and collaboration with local critical care leads and practitioners.

On completion of her ACCP training she was awarded ACCP Membership status to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM).
