Dr Jill Wales

Research Fellow

Department: Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing

Jill Wales is a Research Fellow in Community Wellbeing at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne. She is a qualitative and mixed methods researcher primarily engaged in research activities with a focus on health, wellbeing and co-production with potentially marginalised groups. Jill has a teaching qualification (PGCE) and while employed by Durham County Council, studied for an MA in Professional Practice - Education. She subsequently completed a PhD at Northumbria University in 2020. Jill has worked for Northumbria University on a series of projects primarily relating to services for people with long term health conditions, older people and military veterans.
