Student Parking

Information on Parking Permits for Students


The University recognises the key role it has to play in caring for the environment and therefore we encourage the use of public transport by staff, students and visitors in order to reduce the environmental impact of commuting. Car parking on Campus is managed by our parking partner, APCOA. The University has parking spaces available for use by members of staff, students and visitors, and there is a permit system in place.

Permit applications for 2024/25 have now closed. To view alternative City centre parking please visit our Travelling to the University page.

Parking spaces at City Campus are extremely limited and we recommend travelling on foot, by bicycle or public transport wherever possible.

Applications will close on Friday the 20th of September 2024.You will be notified of the outcome of your application after the closing deadline. Parking permits are valid from 1 October.

Parking at Coach Lane East is based on automatic number plate recognition. You can choose from the payment options below:

  • Make a one-off payment at the machines located in the car park near Communitea and the Sports Centre.
  • Make a one-off payment using the APCOA Connect app (available for iPhone, Android and Windows smartphones).
  • Set up an auto pay account at www.apcoaconnect.com to save your registration number and card details for payments to be taken automatically each time you park. 

It is essential to enter your registration number accurately, otherwise your payment will not be linked to your vehicle and you are liable to receive a PCN.
