The Engineering and Environment Faculty Live Projects Hub brings together industry clients and academic expertise to procure and deliver short term ‘live’ projects. The projects play to the university’s research strengths, tackle real world challenges of importance to industry partners and provide valuable opportunities for students to apply their learning, gain industry skills and develop their employability.
The is no direct financial cost to
participating clients but their support helps develop the next generation. In return, clients can get fresh thinking and
new ideas to their projects and access to new talent.
The Hub delivers ‘live’ projects for the faculty’s Advanced Practice Master’s programme and invites clients to submit project ideas for September and January each year. It works with around 100 businesses and delivers 12-week live project experiences for hundreds of students. The programme is instrumental in bringing learning to life and developing student employability. It sees small teams of students work together to deliver projects submitted by local, national and international organisations.
In addition to live projects for Master’s students, the hub also supports industry linked, authentic learning opportunities for undergraduate students.
