Our Alumni - Work For Us
The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) is a leading research and capacity-building organisation working on climate change and development, based in Bangladesh. It aims to foster sustained capacitation on climate change, in the countries most affected by climate change.
The strategic partnership between Northumbria and ICCCAD will help expand research capacity for both organisations and bring new perspectives to research undertaken by Northumbria’s specialist research groups. Through the partnership, Northumbria staff and students will also undertake fellowships, internships and collaborative research with ICCCAD on issues around climate change adaptation and development, both virtually and in Bangladesh.
ICCCAD holds a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects covering a broad range of thematic areas including loss and damage, locally led adaptation, climate finance, climate change governance, resilient livelihoods, urban resilience, climate migration, nature-based solutions, knowledge management and so forth. The expertise and experience of ICCCAD and its local partners continually facilitates and empowers international experts, practitioners, and development organisations through learning on the ground and knowledge to help solve the climate crisis.
Other least developed countries, and their governments, donors and international NGOs often send delegations to ICCCAD to learn from the organisation’s valuable experience. ICCCAD has hosted visiting researchers from over 50 countries and has a strong alumni network with more than 500 alumni members across the world. ICCCAD is also known for managing the research platform called ‘Gobeshona’, which brings together nearly a hundred universities and research organisations to share their knowledge and experiences with each other and the broader community in Bangladesh and beyond. The organisation also hosts the LDCs Universities Consortium on Climate Capacity, a South-South, university-based platform, aspiring a South-South and South-South-North knowledge sharing and capacity building network.
